This lesson we focused on architecture and truth. What story does the building have to tell us?
We were grouped and tasked to identify common observations and elaborate a concept for an exhibition for this building:
- Thematizing truth and truthfulness
- It’s history: past and present uses
- It’s atmosphere
We had the following questions:
– Is the building truthful in its original architectural design, in its shift of use, in its current architectural design?
-How does your own concept remain truthful?
The group I was part of came up with the following:
We would try to find buildings made in the same year to show that everything stylistically about this one is fake. This in an attempt to show the differences between what it should look like and what it actually does.
